Pennsylvania Licensed Water Well Drillers
  • Drillers are NOT required to demonstrate knowledge of proper drilling or well construction practices in order to become licensed. Being a licensed driller does not ensure that a water well will be properly constructed.
  • The NGWA (National Ground Water Association) does provide voluntary certification of well drillers. Lack of certification does not indicate inability to properly construct a water well. The Pennsylvania Geological Survey provides this link for the benefit of the consumer, but does not endorse drillers based on NGWA certification.
  • Pennsylvania does not have statewide well locating or construction standards for private water wells. Check local municipalities for such standards.
