HUDSON HAROLD H. Age 86, of Newmansville, PA, died Wed., Feb. 28, 2001 at Palm Harbor, Florida. Born August 24, 1914 in Green Twp. Indiana County he was the son of the late Jacob Newton and Miriam Conners Johns Hudson. He was married to former Louise Ross of Cherry- Tree, Indiana County, PA on March 27, 1937 at Ellerslie, Maryland and she survives. Mr. Hudson was enrolled in the C.C.C. in Fulton County PA and worked for Big Bend Coal Company in Twin Rocks, PA. He then worked as a freight conductor, for the Union Railroad Company retiring in 1975 with 38 years service. Mr. Hudson belonged to the following organizations Fuddy Duddy Club of Retired Railroad Men (U.R.R.), United Transportation Union #1628, NACCCA and Scotch Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife Mr. Hudson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Harold B. and Helen Hudson of Export, PA; three daughters Mary Louise Pacella of Leeper, PA, Barbara Jean M. and husband Adel B. Abdul-Malek of Palm Harbor, Florida and Miriam Thompson of Newmansville, PA. He is also survived by a sister Genevieve Faye Molek of Sharon PA; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;15 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Ivan, Melvin and Irvan Jay; two sisters Lilly Leota Thompson and Mary Kelley. Friends may call at the BORLAND FUNERAL HOME, INC. IN LEEPER from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Monday at 08/27/2004
This month the Fulton County Historical Society has published two new books on the CCC Camps of Fulton County - Camp S-52 at Sideling Hill, and Camp S-54 at Cowans Gap.
